Fairbowl is a dog food grading site and a membership for pet parents who cook for their dogs. By using the site or joining Fairbowl+, you agree to these terms. The important parts: grades are our opinion (not veterinary advice), recipes are for informational purposes (always consult your vet), and you agree to use the site in good faith.
Fairbowl is operated by Bryce Francois, doing business as BK Pets. When these terms say "Fairbowl," "we," "us," or "our," they mean BK Pets.
Fairbowl's free tools, including the brand comparison tool and grading pages, are available to anyone. No account is required. By using the site, you agree not to scrape, republish, or commercially redistribute our content without written permission.
Fairbowl+ is a paid membership that gives you access to recipes, the calculator, community features, and occasional access to Dr. Conway for member questions. Membership is billed monthly through Kajabi at the price you select at signup. You can cancel at any time from your account settings, and your access will continue until the end of your current billing period.
If you cancel within 7 days of your first payment, you can email bryce@fairbowl.com for a full refund. After 7 days, payments are non-refundable, but you will retain access for the remainder of your billing period.
Fairbowl+ membership is for personal, household use. You may not share your login credentials or redistribute recipes, calculator outputs, or other member-only content publicly or commercially.
Fairbowl's brand grades represent our opinion based on publicly available information, direct brand outreach, and the criteria published on our How We Grade page. Grades are not endorsements or medical advice. They are intended to help pet parents make more informed decisions about commercial dog food.
We make every effort to be accurate, but information changes. If you represent a brand and believe we have something wrong, email bryce@fairbowl.com with supporting documentation and we will review it.
The recipes in Fairbowl+ are formulated by Dr. Danielle Conway, a Veterinary Nutritionist. They are designed for healthy adult dogs unless otherwise noted (e.g., puppy recipes, kidney support recipes).
Fairbowl recipes are provided for informational and educational purposes. They are not a substitute for individualized veterinary advice. Every dog is different. If your dog has a medical condition, food allergies, or specific dietary needs, consult your veterinarian before changing their diet.
Fairbowl is not responsible for adverse outcomes resulting from the use of recipes or calculator outputs. By using these tools, you acknowledge that you are making feeding decisions for your own dog at your own discretion.
The Fairbowl+ community is a shame-free space. Members are expected to treat each other with respect regardless of what they feed their dogs, how long they have been cooking, or where they are in the process. We reserve the right to remove members who harass, shame, or bully other members, without refund.
All content on Fairbowl, including text, graphics, logos, grading criteria, recipes, tools, and design, is owned by BK Pets or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may share links to Fairbowl pages freely, but you may not copy, republish, or commercially redistribute our content without written permission.
Fairbowl provides information and tools to help pet parents make better feeding decisions. We are not a veterinary practice and do not provide veterinary medical advice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fairbowl and BK Pets shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, membership, recipes, or any content provided.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify active Fairbowl+ members by email. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
