Fairbowl collects the minimum amount of information needed to run the site and the Fairbowl+ membership. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not let brands pay for access to it. If you have questions, email bryce@fairbowl.com.
Fairbowl is operated by Bryce Francois, doing business as BK Pets. When this policy says "Fairbowl," "we," "us," or "our," it means BK Pets.
If you browse the site without creating an account, we collect basic analytics data: pages visited, time on page, general location (country/region), device type, and browser type. This data is aggregated and not tied to your identity.
If you create a Fairbowl+ account, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely via Supabase authentication). We use this to log you in and manage your membership.
If you subscribe to Fairbowl+, your payment is processed through Kajabi's payment system. Fairbowl does not store your credit card number, bank account information, or other financial details on our servers. Kajabi handles payment processing in accordance with their own privacy policy.
If you email us, we retain your email address and the contents of the conversation so we can respond and follow up.
We use the information we collect to run the site and membership, respond to your questions, send you important account-related communications (like password resets or membership changes), and improve Fairbowl over time. We may send occasional emails about new features, recipes, or graded brands. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not give dog food brands access to member data. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles. Fairbowl takes no money from any brand it covers, and that extends to data as well.
Fairbowl uses a small number of third-party services to operate. These include Supabase (authentication and database), Kajabi (payment processing and email), and standard web analytics tools. Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We choose services that handle data responsibly, but we encourage you to review their policies if you have concerns.
Fairbowl uses cookies to keep you logged in and to collect basic analytics. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using HTTPS across the site, storing passwords via secure hashing (never in plain text), and limiting access to member data. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data the way we'd want ours treated.
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or ask us to delete your account and associated data. To make any of these requests, email bryce@fairbowl.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are in California, the European Union, or another jurisdiction with specific data protection laws, you may have additional rights. We will do our best to honor those rights. If you have questions about how your local laws apply, reach out and we will work with you.
Fairbowl is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes that affect how we use your data, we will notify active Fairbowl+ members by email.
