Find out if your dog's food is high-quality

Fairbowl grades dog food on evidence. Look up any brand for free. No information required. No sponsorships allowed.

For anyone who's ever stood in the dog food aisle, overwhelmed and confused, wondering who they can trust.

Why you can trust the reviews

Nobody paid for these

No brand pays to be here.

Fairbowl takes no money from any food brand it covers. If a brand could pay for a good review, the whole thing would be pointless.

Free to look up. No account needed.

Every grade on the site is free. Fairbowl+ is pay-what-you-can, because cost shouldn't be the thing in the way of feeding your dog well.

Grading criteria built on evidence and expert opinion.

Fairbowl's grading rubric is based on veterinary nutrition science and expert opinion. We publish the full criteria so you can see exactly how every brand is scored.

Why this exists

Built by someone who admitted he was wrong

Fairbowl exists because Bryce spent years building an audience of 2.5 million+ pet parents around dog nutrition advice he later realized was wrong. He was confident, he was loud, and he was wrong.

So what did he do?

He told his audience he was wrong, sat down with credentialed veterinary nutritionists, and changed directions entirely. Fairbowl is what came out of starting over. A place where the answer comes from evidence, not from whoever's loudest.
